Front Hose with Clamp

This is the only way to safely plumb a McPherson Strut. These hoses have a 360° swivel on one end. Approx 450 mm long end to end.

Various sizes can be made to order but standard ones are 1/4 MNPT (very common US struts/bags) to 1/4 FNPT 360 Swivel and takes a fitting to 1/4 PTC or 3/8 PTC or 1/2 PTC.

Description

It is essential for safety that users NEVER install PTC (Push to connect) fittings direct into McPherson struts. Nylon PTC hose is not designed to be moved through such acute angles on a second by second basis. They will leak, and can fail totally.

It is only safe to install a proper armoured hose which is impact resistant, designed for constant movement and in the case of these hoses rated to 10,000 psi so they are suitable for any air installation. Sometimes called a “flexi” hose or “Flexi-hose” these are similar to brake hoses which make the same journey from suspension to chassis.
