Strut Bags

A strut bag is a type of airbag that can be used to make struts – i.e. a suspension device in which the airspring/airbag is around the outside of the shock absorber/damper and changed as one unit. Some are bolt on and some need welding – this latter type can be very difficult to install. The Universal air ones are designated as double skinned which means most of the engineering is done for you but they don’t work well on very heavy cars.
