What is included in a kit?
This is a FBSS (Front Back and Side to Side) kit (only 4 of 8 solenoid valves shown), for a front wheel drive car, with 100% duty cycle compressor, and 3 gallon tank.
Kits vary depending upon car, and speed required. 2 Litre Coke bottle shown to help illustrate size. Please contact us for further information.
In General a kit would include:-
-
4 x Air bags
-
Compressor
-
Compressor check valve
-
Compressor to tank braided air line
-
Air Tank
-
Fixing Brackets (as required)
-
Solenoids (if Fast kit)
-
Control switches or computer control system
-
Air lines and fittings
A more basic kit (slower) is pictured below and does not include electric solenoid valves, but instead includes manual paddles, which directly open and close the port to operate the system. These systems generally have smaller tanks and smaller compressors. they are not generally regarded as show systems and are only really designed for intermittent use – perhaps once a day.
If the picture above had the same 2 Litre Coke bottle for size illustration then it would not be as long as the tank to the top left. The smaller compressor shown here is a little larger than a coke can – probably nearer to one and a half cans in length!
If you intend using the system more regularly then a Fast system either FB or FBSS would be more appropriate.
It should be noted that although most (US in particular) suppliers claim the kits are direct fit – in 99% of all cases they are not and fabrication is involved.
Part of the problem comes from language and translation issues, by mostly its just lies. Most air kits are nothing like direct fitting kits, as most European customers would expect.
For the most part we do not sell direct fit kit (and neither does anyone else), we just don’t lie about it. It’s this confusion that mostly leads to 80% of all imported kits never getting fitted. If you have bought a kit from elsewhere then I would be happy to fit it for you, please let us know the details, and I’ll do a quote.
Above you can see our new twin bearing upper strut mount for smooth and trouble free steering. This is a major safety item and an issue not addressed by other suppliers, one of which relies on flex in the mounting bush to permit your steering to turn at all.
Because of the unique design of this item, it Can be mounted above or below, and can drop the car another 2 inches if desired.
