The dictionary definition of air is : “the invisible gaseous substance surrounding the earth, a mixture mainly of oxygen and nitrogen.”
Air is a compressible substance and as such can be used as a spring medium. Hence if we contain the air we can make an air spring. This is exactly what an airbag is. Air contained within a rubber bag to act as a spring.
